Suddenstrike is about wildlife solutions; tailor made services based upon in-depth knowledge of wildlife coupled with creative, lateral thinking. In many areas we have designed new and innovative solutions to handle problems caused by wildlife. We are one of the most successful wildlife management companies in the UK.
The company based in Nantwich, Cheshire, was founded in 1997 when Steve Wilkinson's love of the countryside and keen interest in wildlife lead him to change career direction completely and combine his entrepreneurial skills in handling wildlife problems with his desire to provide a first class service to customers whilst handling wildlife with respect and compassion.
"We never know from one day to the next, the wildlife problem that we may be asked to handle" says Steve, "this is what makes the job so rewarding. It can be as diverse as; controlling mosquitoes on marsh land, bird control at Liverpool airport, erecting exclusion fencing to control rabbits and badgers, working on railway embankments to stabilise them following damage caused rabbits burrowing, pigeon proofing railway bridges in Glasgow, working throughout the night in the middle of Manchester to catch and remove Canada Geese, general bird proofing and rodent control of shops, restaurants and schools, catching moles on farms in the area or even relocating a swarm of bees for the local council!"
Steve's standing and reputation in the industry is such that he has presented a speech at PestEx 2005, the British Pest Control Association's (BPCA) biannual exhibition, where he talked about "The future direction of wildlife control measures in the light of increasing legislation and licensing". As well as being a member of the BPCA's servicing committee, Steve was also invited, as a recognised specialist, to discuss mole control on BBC television's high profile rural and environmental program 'Countryfile'.
The father and son partnership of Steve and his 20 year old son James, now employs six full-time staff and specialists as required. Two technicians work full time erecting exclusion fencing - typical clients include nurseries where rabbits can do thousands of pounds worth of damage to young trees. Vegetation control and weed control is another key area and the company employs the very latest spraying equipment.
Their attention to detail in their customer service and in their administration and recording systems form the bedrock of the company in and industry where compliance and legislation issues are of paramount importance.
The company has won significant industrial contracts, particularly where public health and safety is concerned, with organisations such as Network Rail, The Forestry Commission and The National Trust, Local Authorities, Project Management Companies, Schools, Hospitals, Stately Homes, Country Estates, golf courses and DEFRA are all users of their services.
Continually investing in the most up to date machinery and on numerous occasions designing and making their own equipment for a particular purpose enables them to offer a very wide range of services at competitive rates.
"We don't like wasting time for our customers or ourselves and we like to look after the health and safety of our staff and so where ever possible, we use machinery to do the work whether it is our JCB with post knocker, our quad bikes for easy access when carrying out mole control and vegetation control or our gas analysis equipment used after phosphine treatments"
